Arnot Art Museum

Well-known artists such as Thomas Cole, George Inness and Jean-François Millet grace the galleries of the Arnot Art Museum. Located in the Greek Revival mansion built by John Arnot Sr. in 1833, the Arnot Art Museum is a rare example of a once private collection that still displays its original artworks. Works collected by Matthias H. Arnot, along with the mansion were bequeathed to the city of Elmira upon his death, with the museum’s doors opening in 1913 for all to enjoy.
